Interested in making meaningful connections through volunteer mission work at Catalina UMC? We’d love for you to be part of our community! To get involved, contact our church office at [email protected] or give us a call at (520) 327-4296. We’re excited to help you find a place to serve and make a real difference in the Tucson area. Take a look at some of the mission outreach projects we have planned for 2025:

Join us at Catalina UMC on the fourth Saturday of each month in 2025 from 2 PM to 6 PM to prepare and serve meals. Our team will handle the menu planning and grocery shopping so you can focus on helping and enjoying the experience.

Volunteers should be ready for some physical activity during meal prep and service. We welcome all vaccinated volunteers over 12 years old and will provide gloves. For more details, contact us at [email protected]. We can’t wait to see you!

Every six weeks, Catalina prepares a hearty soup for the community, and we need three volunteers per team to help. Join us on Saturday mornings from 630 AM to 1030 AM to cook chicken-vegetable soup or another recipe with the guidance of a team leader who manages grocery shopping. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old, fully vaccinated, and wear gloves. Mask requirements may vary based on health guidelines.

Each year the congregation actively participates in collecting new backpacks notebooks pencils crayons and other essential supplies for the students at Blenman Elementary School ensuring that these items reach those students most in need Our efforts also include preparing meals for the teachers as a gesture of gratitude for the vital work they do For more information contact the office at [email protected]

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Making

Join us to make 1000 sandwiches for a local shelter. We will have time for our volunteers to SIT, fellowship, and work together! This is an outreach that does NOT require hours of standing or heavy lifting.

Casa Paloma Sack Lunches

If you would like to help with Casa Paloma Sack Lunches we meet the third Tuesday each month at 9:00 a.m. in the kitchen at CUMC. We are looking for volunteers to help make the lunches or just to donates items we need for the lunches. Please contact Kris Chapman at [email protected] for more info.

Our community outreach includes

Angel Tree – Spread joy with gifts for children whose parents are incarcerated.
Blenman Elementary School – Provide school supplies, new backpacks and food packets.
Casa Maria – Cook and serve meals
TIHAN POZ Cafe – Cook and serve meals
Primavera Men’s Shelter – Cook and serve meals
Market on the Move – Distributing rescued produce.
Snack bags and water for anyone in need coming to our office
