Catalina United Methodist Church proclaims that all people are created in God’s image and are of sacred worth. We affirm that we are a reconciling congregation and choose to associate ourselves with the Reconciling Ministries Network. We welcome and affirm persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities to join us on our spiritual journey, acknowledging that you have known the pain of exclusion and discrimination in the church or in society. We acknowledge that there are differences among us, but we believe that we should love alike even though we may not look alike or think alike. We know that more diverse and inclusive participation in our church enriches us. We invite all people to join us on our faith journey toward greater love, understanding and mutual respect.

Your Spiritual Path

Like you, everyone is on a spiritual path seeking answers to these and other difficult questions. We all seek love and inner peace. Most people believe in a God, but are unsure how to connect with God or how to live life so we are happier.
At Catalina United Methodist our purpose is to help you learn, grow and progress along your spiritual path. We want to help you nurture your personal relationship with the Loving God. The teachings of Jesus give us a wonderful guide for life. The Bible teaches:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
As part of our community, we will help you grow in all these beautiful gifts of the Spirit. Other gifts available to you are the gifts of forgiveness, grace and salvation.

Next Steps

We invite and encourage you to join us for Sunday services where you can meet your fellow Christ seekers and begin your celebration of a Spirit-filled life. We also have these other activities you can join. Or, contact us for a personal meeting with a Pastor who can answer your questions.

“Joy is very infectious.” – Mother Teresa
People are often surprised at how open and welcoming Methodist services are. Here are some things you can expect from our services and activities.

Expect to be welcomed.

Come as you are. You are welcome to dress as you feel comfortable worshiping. God cares about the heart, not a specific dress code. Whether you are a lifelong Methodist, or haven’t been to a church in years, we are glad for you to be part of our community, it’s that simple.
You will never be singled out or asked to stand in front of the congregation. You may participate in the worship service in any way that is comfortable to you.

Children are welcome.

Families with children are important at Catalina. We encourage children to participate in the worship services, but understand that it may be hard for little ones. We offer nursery care for children three and under during all services and Sunday School.

When is Communion?

Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month at the 10:00am service. At Catalina, we follow the United Methodist practice of OPEN COMMUNION, which means you do not have to be a member of the church or a Methodist to participate. We believe this is God’s table, and God welcomes all. Click here for more information about the practice of Holy Communion in the United Methodist Church.
