Growing in Community & Compassion: Queer Fellowship & Service

Following the connection formed during our Lenten Queer Bible Study, a group of us gathered for a bowling night earlier this month—fifteen people came out for an evening of fun, laughter, and community, and we had a great time!
As we continue to grow together, we’re exploring next steps like a Queer Christian book or film study. In that same spirit of community and care, we'll include this fellowship group to support Catalina’s Reconciling Committee and Church & Society Committee partnership supply drive for TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network). This is a wonderful way to live out our call to love and justice in action!
New Mural in our Welcome Area

The sanctuary renovation is complete! Our final project was our beautiful mural done by Matt Robles. Our gathering area has been a big success. We are thankful to all who participated in this project and to those who contributed financially. Every Sunday, we see folks greeting newcomers and enjoying fellowship. Feel free to take family pictures in front of this beautiful, new, floor-to-ceiling mural!

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

Women’s Bible Study:
Come join us this summer for a Bible study with no homework! Summer in Tucson is a laid-back time, but we still appreciate being with one another. That’s why we will be using the No Homework, Group Hug by Christine Tate. We will meet in the beautifully renewed Welcome area in our sanctuary from 9:30-10:30am beginning Wednesdays, June 25th and ending July 16th.
We would love to see you there for a no-stress, cool, get-together to learn more about each other and our faith journey. Contact Brenda Halferty for more information at [email protected] or 520-481-6993

Men’s Bible Study: Wednesdays @ 6:45am Currently on Summer Break until after Labor Day!
We meet weekly on Wednesday mornings in Room E23 at 6:45 am. For those whose schedules allow, we plan on going to breakfast at 8:00 am following Bible Study.
There's a New Support Group at CUMC!

Church member Nikki Hampton is a Certified Postpartum Doula, Patient Family Partner Advocate and former Preschool Teacher at Catalina Day School. Nikki has been renting Room E22 from us to meet with her clients and growing services.
