Pastor Mike Leads New Book Discussion Beginning This Sunday and Monday
Pastor Mike will be leading a book discussion on the book “The Sin of Certainty: Why God Desires Our Trust More Than Our ‘Correct’ Beliefs” by Peter Enns. Enns is a biblical scholar and host of the podcast “The Bible for Normal People.” In the Sin of Certainty, Enns discusses the biblical dynamics of faith/trust and belief/certainty. Enns “explains how Christians mistake “certainty” and “correct belief” for faith when what God really desires is trust and intimacy” (amazon.com). The book discussion will have two options: Sunday nights at 6pm by Zoom or Monday mornings at 10am in person at the church. The group will begin meeting Jan 12 (Zoom) and 13 (in person). Please let Pastor Mike know if you are interested in joining us and which option you prefer (Sun. or Mon.) by emailing him at [email protected]. Information about the book can be found at: https://www.amazon.com/Sin-Certainty-Desires-Correct-Beliefs-ebook/dp/B00XHQA8P6/.

Meals Needed Request Fills January Calendar!
Paul Newhouse, one of our parishioners and church leaders, recently received a difficult cancer diagnosis. In addition to our prayers, Paul and his husband Ray are in need of a couple of meals per week for the next three months. January has been completely covered! If you’re interested and available to prepare a few, simple meals to the family in February, please contact Allison Bradford: [email protected] She's coordinating dates for pick up/drop off as well as provide meal suggestions within their dietary restrictions. Thank you for your generosity & support to this wonderful couple at Catalina.
